Passage

Competitive Tactical Shooter Level Design

Passage features two sites: A and B and there are multiple entry points to and from the sites, as well as being linked into middle. Passage like the name suggests, it’s the introduction of the underground passage that links from Middle to B site. This was introduced as the current Valorant map roster does not have maps with a tunnel like design that connect directly to a site. It was implemented to create some form of variety and gimmick.

Passage was made for my 4th year honours project on Level Design.

 

The map is specifically designed for the competitive shooter 'Valorant' by Riot Games', with consideration of its agents and the roles that are within the game while also following the design philosophies of Riot designers.

 

The design philosophy behind Passage was to create a gameplay environment that encourages strategic playstyles, fosters quick adaptability to situations and to have an effective engagement.
